چکیده

Abstract: For increasing the efficiency of omega-3 production, effect span-85 surfactant as a hydrophobic agent (0, 1, 2, 3 and 4 wt%) on formation porous structure in sub-layer PVDF membrane was studied. Also, cross-sectional morphology membranes analyzed using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) surface property evaluated contact angle test. The capacity to concentrate examined by filtration lantern fish oil. fouling caused oil evaluated. All tests were performed batch mode. Results SEM images demonstrated that addition resulted forming with denser more structure. 2 wt% increased concentration, while higher level showed negative effect. best 42.64 which obtained PVDF/2 span-85. This about 11% than control (0 wt%). Taken together, presence affected phase inversion process during formation, improved concentration. Moreover, cake formation. Highly hydrophilic poly(vinylidene fluoride)/meso-titania hybrid mesoporous membrane for photocatalytic membrane reactor in water.

The high hydrophobicity of poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) membrane remains an obstacle to be applied in some purification processes of water or wastewater. Herein, a highly hydrophilic hybrid mesoporous titania membrane composed of mesoporous anatase titania (meso-TiO2) materials inside the three-dimensional (3D) macropores of PVDF membrane was successfully prepared by using the dual-template...

Effect of Concentration of Cations on Activated Sludge Properties and Membrane Fouling in Membrane Bioreactors for Wastewater Treatment

This paper presents the results of an investigation on the effects of concentration of cations on activated sludge properties and membrane fouling in submerge membrane bioreactors. The working volume of the experimental setup was two liters. The cellulose acetate membrane was immersed in the bioreactor. The flocculability, settling properties and fouling propensity of activated sludge was measu...

Performance of Chemically Modified TiO2-poly (vinylidene fluoride) DCMD for Nutrient Isolation and Its Antifouling Properties

The surface properties of TiO2-PVDF nanocomposite membranes were investigated by incorporating different chemically modified TiO2 nanoparticles into the poly (vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) matrix. The nanocomposite membranes were prepared via dual coagulation bath diffusion and the induced phase inversion method. The membrane surface morphologies were investigated by using SEM and AFM and related...

Efficient Immobilised TiO2 in Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) Membrane for Photocatalytic Degradation of Methylene Blue

Immobilised titanium dioxide (TiO2) in membrane structures has recently become attractive. This is due to the elimination of the separation step after the process of photocatalytic degradation. The efficiency of the TiO2 surface area exposed to UV light as the main important parameter needs to be considered. The immobilisation of TiO2 nanoparticles in the polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) membrane...

Membrane Distillation for Water Recovery and Its Fouling Phenomena

The total volume of water on Earth is circa 300 million cubic miles, with close to 98.0% being salt water and the remaining 2.0% fresh water. It has been increasingly more challenging to harvest fresh water from surface water, seawater and even from wastewater due to the combination of factors, viz. burgeoning population growth, rapid industrialization and climate change. Recently, membrane dis...
